Biography Assignment

Here is your chance to read and write about a person you feel is worth knowing. Your person can be living or dead, famous or not. Locate information about a person you are interested in, and read it. As you read the biographical information, watch for answers to the following questions. Make your answers to each question at least 1-2 paragraphs (which makes the entire completed assignment about 4 pages in length). You must type your assignment and use Times New Roman size 12. Please use double spacing, number your answers to correspond with each question, and skip a line between numbers.

EACH OF THESE QUESTIONS HAS SEVERAL PARTS - PLEASE BE SURE TO ANSWER EVERY PART OF EACH QUESTION.

1- Tell about the this person's early life that developed his/her personality and character. What were this person's talents? What were some experiences that might have predicted that this person would become successful and famous? Think about the life events that occurred that have shaped this person.

8. Create an author's background paragraph in which you explain the reasons for your selection as well as provide some autobiographical info about yourself. (You can include info such as age, hobbies, favorite classes, sports, what you do in your free time, etc.) What about this person appeals to you and makes him or her worth knowing?

Part II:

Then, you will create a biography wiki page. On your page, you may include images and links but they must be school appropriate. You must get approval for your person and he or she must be school appropriate as well. You will have a difficult time arguing why a person is worth knowing if he or she has been arrested, served time, assaulted or killed anyone, etc. You will have 2 days in the computer lab to work on your page and do research. If you need extra time, you may come in before school, after school or arrange for time during lunch.

Optional: You may create a movie of the person's life using Windows Moviemaker. You will have some slides with biographical info on them within the movie, however, you must submit the written portion of responses to the questions.
